Eventually I succumbed to the fact that needed a wireless DAC/amp instead of DAP. I removed it the other day to restore drive original conditions, test and take pictures. It has spent the last six months back in original box while I sorted out DAC/amps. It wouldn't read my playlists or run Media Monkey dispute being open source android like basso.
This R6III was used for maybe 10 or 12 hours total. It was used gently and carefully always stored in dry conditions at comfortable ambient temperature. The R6III has a sound signature and amplifier power that rivaled my basso but like the later firmware updates of previous DAP.
